DATA LOGGING
CAPABILITY
The logging capacity is 10000 bits of
information comprising:
-
Cover measurement
-
Bar size
-
Date
-
Time
-
Log Number
The PC application communicates with the
8020 via a serial port and
enables the downloading directly into a
Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format (*.csv file).
This will include the facility to download a
selected range of logged data "points" such that
only the required data is transferred to the
spreadsheet.
This program is simple to install
and has been tested on Windows 2000, ME and XP.
Using high-powered processors in
conjunction with pulse induction search
technology, automatic bar diameter determination
within the parameters defined below enables very
precise depth readings and bar orientation to be
obtained even where there is the need to
discriminate between bars on close centres.
Several Menu and Set-up screens are available to
tailor the
8020
to your local requirements, and
the unit remembers these settings at switch on
until modified, even after power-down for
battery conservation.
Battery life is shown on
screen but an additional visual indication is
given when to continue work might compromise
stored data, and that re-charging is essential.
A typical
operating screen is shown below.

MICRO
COVERMETER
¨
The
Worlds first microprocessor controlled reinforcement bar locator
The Micro Covermeter is a
micro processor controlled unit weighing only 500g, used for
the non-destructive checking of steel reinforcement in
concrete structures and components such as pre-cast lintels,
staircases and reinforced panels.
Standard Features with Mini
Probe
Detects mesh at 100mm centres, closer than ever before!
Measures up to 120mm depth BS I88I:204
Accurate to ± 2mm
One square metre can be scanned in one minute
Can be used on concrete pipe and spiral mesh
Bar alignment capability with audio tone
Digital display for either high tensile or mild
steel
Quickscan audio alarm to check if rebars have
sufficient cover
Single bar sizing capability
Ignores magnetic aggregates
Extra Features with Maxi
Probe
Measures
up to 360mm depth BS I88I:204
Out performs all known competition
Technical Data
The Micro
Covermeter accurately determines the position and direction
of the reinforcing bars and the exact measurement of their
concrete cover to BS I88I:204.
Other uses include checking
meshed reinforcement and concrete pipe.
Determination
of the position of direction of axis of a reinforcing bar is
made by moving the search head on the surface of the
structure. Defining the position and direction of the
various reinforcement bars produces a precise picture of the
grouping of entire reinforcing systems in various parts of a
structure and after familiarisation with the instrument it
is possible to define bar ends, enlargement, hooks and ties.
The Micro
Covermeter is supplied complete with Mini Probe search head,
carrying case, weatherproof instrument cover, spare
batteries as well as the fitted set, bar sizing spacers and
instruction manual.

COVERMETER -
8010
Technical Specifications
It has been shown that pulse induction
technology cannot achieve detection of deeply
embedded reinforcement bars and so search and
receive coil techniques are used with the Depth
probe to achieve results down to a world's best
360mm of cover.
Where more precise, fully
automatic, bar sizing and, by extension, depth
determination and bar discrimination is
required, then the 8020 model should be employed.
Several menu and set-up screens are available to
tailor the 8010 to your local requirements, and
the unit remembers these settings at switch on
until modified, even after power-down for
battery conservation.
Battery life is shown on
screen but an additional indication is given
when to continue work might compromise stored
data and that re-charging is essential.
A typical operating screen is
shown below:

On-Off function switch on keypad
selects menus as required.
The screen appearing
after the Cover depth screen is for the manual
bar size estimation routine.
Two measurements
are taken, one after insertion of a spacer block
and then the instrument calculates the bar size
and updates the working memory.
